I am an Ofsted registered Childminder and qualified childcare professional, working in my own home which is a spacious detached house with large secure garden and off road parking.
I have experience of caring for children both at home and in a nursery setting.
I previously worked in a busy day nursery, with babies, toddlers and pre school children. I have also worked before and after school and in the holidays with older children.
I hold a level 3 Childcare qualification, a Montessori National Certificate, a current Paediatric First Aid certificate and level 4 DSL Safeguarding Certificate. I am a member of Pacey, who support my continuing Professional development. Through them, I can access training in specific areas to extend and improve my practice. I also have Public Liability insurance arranged through 'Pacey'.
About... the setting
The house is spacious and all the rooms used for Childminding are on the ground floor. There is a dedicated playroom equipped with many toys, books and early years resources. The children enjoy Painting, Playdough and Craft activities. There are facilities for children and babies to have daytime naps if needed, and a large downstairs bathroom with nappy changing facilities and equipment for toddler toilet training.
Our sunny garden play area, has a paved patio accessed by two steps and a ramp, and is level, fenced and secure. There is plenty of room for the children to run around on the lawn There is a toddler slide, ride on and push along toys, a mini trampoline, chalk board, tents, tunnel, balls etc. to play with.
Sand and water play are available, and the children enjoy planting seeds and feeding the wild birds that visit our garden. There are also shaded areas in the garden with trees, and places for the children to relax and enjoy meals outdoors in the good weather. We are lucky to have Hordle Toddler park and recreation field within five minutes walk of our house. This has a safe fenced, grassy area with swings, climbing frame, slide, swing ring and scooter / bike track with activity boards.
About... caring for your child
Working from home as a Childminder, enables me to build a secure relationship with each child as an individual. I provide a warm, friendly, relaxed environment where children feel safe and secure and parents feel happy and confident that their child is well looked after.
Through planned learning based around the child’s interests and ability, your child will gain the confidence and self esteem needed to prepare for the transition to school. I use a mix of structured activities and free play each day.
Using the EYFS seven areas of learning, I make regular observations of the children, and record their progress. This enables me to make simple plans for how I can help your child move onto the next stage of their development and towards the early learning goals.
Parents are kept informed about their child's day and with their child’s progress through daily chats and sharing the child's individual learning journal. This enables parents to support their child in all areas of their learning at home.
I provide breakfast, healthy snacks and drinks for the children and those who attend all day are welcome to bring a packed lunch which will be stored in the fridge.
